RULE NO: RULE TITLE
64J-1.0201: EMS Instructor Qualifications

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that on June 01, 2010, the Florida Department of Health, Division of Emergency Medical Operations, Bureau of Emergency Medical Services, received a petition for emergency variance of paragraphs 64J-1.0201(4)(a), (d) and (e), Florida Administrative Code, from Fortis Institute FKA Florida Career Institute.
Nature of Rule: Sets forth the minimum qualifications for Adjunct Instructors at Florida-approved EMS Training Programs. To be eligible for approval as an EMS Training Program, applicants must provide documentation that each instructor has met the standards for their position as listed in the school’s Application for Approval of an Emergency Medical Services Training Program, DH Form 1698, December 2008.
The petitioner is requesting a temporary variance of the above-described rule until January 1, 2013 for any newly hired instructors to meet the Instructor Core Curriculum or exemption requirements.
All comments regarding this emergency petition must be received in writing by June 23, 2010.
